The Safe Schools/Healthy Students (SS/HS) initiative is a unique federal grant-making program designed to prevent violence and substance use among our nation's youth, schools, and communities. SS/HS promotes mental health among students, enhances their academic achievement, prevents violence and substance use in schools and communities, and creates safe and respectful school environments.

Kennedy Krieger Institute

The Kennedy Krieger Institute is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with pediatric developmental disabilities and disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and musculoskeletal system, through patient care, special education, research, and professional training.
