Read Personal Stories

Review the personal stories of people recovering from mental and/or substance use disorders.

These personal stories share strategies individuals have used to overcome obstacles and achieve success with their recovery efforts.

I believe there are many pathways to recovery. Faith has been my pathway to recovery. You have to have will. You have to want to change things. Recovery is possible.
Try to help other people, and doing so really helps me with my recovery to stay in a sober environment. I strongly support peer-to-peer recovery.
So I focus on the positive. I go out there and help someone that's struggling. And by doing that, I help myself.
Recovery is possible. Opportunity is possible. Hope is possible.
I now have the opportunity to give back. I decided that I had to do something else in my recovery and helping others makes me feel complete.
I am clean and sober today, and I am employable and there for others.
