During the month of September, Canadians in recovery from addiction will join together with supporters such as family members, friends and the community, to challenge the societal stigmas surrounding addictions, to build awareness of recovery and to celebrate the role recovery plays in improving lives, families and communities.
We know that recovery saves lives, but we also know that people have so many accomplishments and successes that are rarely highlighted or are a focus when people think of addiction. This is the focus we are looking to change through having a recovery day, to create an awareness of addiction through the lens of recovery.
