Recovery Month is an opportunity to engage students, faculty, staff, and community about behavioral health and substance use. This year we will have a mini carnival with speak out on Eating Disorders, an Underage Drinking Town Hall sponsored by SAMHSA for the community, informational fair with substance abuse and behavioral health information, and Violence Prevention Day with informational fair and candle light vigil. Our goal is to increase awareness of substance use and behavioral health in diverse communities to add in greater willingness to seek help and to increase knowledge of resources in the community in New Orleans tradition.

Education (townhall meeting, class, workshop, lecture or training for community and general public, policymakers, social service and criminal justice organizations, etc.)
Health and Wellness (screening for substance use and/or mental disorder screening, smoking cessation, health fair, blood pressure or diabetes clinic, yoga, healing, retreat, etc.)
