Event Description: 
This presentation will address the treatment of co-occurring PTSD among individuals with substance use disorder recovery needs, utilizing the evidence-based intervention known as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. The origins of and research base for EMDR will be discussed, as well as how the treatment is delivered to manage destabilization/relapse risks while re-engaging adaptive information processing related to unresolved/under-resolved trauma memories. 1.5 CE credits for social work and certified addiction counselors.
