$0, Free for Ohio providers; $115 for non-Ohio providers / Tobacco Use Disorders have a major impact on the health and well-being of individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorders. This training will provide an overview of the epidemiology of Tobacco Use Disorders in this population, followed by a discussion of evidence-based treatments. Medication treatments include at least seven FDA-approved agents that may be used alone or in combination to treat Tobacco Use Disorders. Psychosocial treatments are most successful when they are stage-based and focused on motivational interventions to engage patients in ongoing treatment. The training will end with a review of helpful strategies aimed at implementing Tobacco Use Disorder interventions in a variety of behavioral healthcare settings.
