The Recovery Month Spirituality Breakfast is Presented by Minnesota Recovery Connection, the Augsburg College StepUP Program and the 2015 Recovery Month Sponsors. All proceeds cover the cost of the breakfast and any remaining funds benefit the recovery community through MRC's work to strengthen the recovery community through peer-to-peer support, public education and advocacy.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Major John Donovan:
Major John Donovan is a person in long-term recovery with over 39 years of sobriety. He is passionate about recovery and speaks and lectures frequently to military related audiences. Additionally, Maj. Donovan founded the Recovery Community Network (RCN) in St. Cloud. This organization is devoted to strengthening the recovery community in Central Minnesota. Maj. Donovan earned his commission in 2000 and has deployed three times since 9/11 once to Bosnia and twice to Iraq. Major Donovan is a graduate of the Officer Basic Course, the Army Public Affairs Course, the Command and General Staff College and the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute. He holds a master of education degree from Boston University and his military decorations include the: Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Accommodation Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal and the NATO Medal. After 27 years in the service of the Armed Forces, Maj. Donovan will retire in January of 2018.
