The International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals (ISSUP) is a global, not for profit, non-government organization to support the development of a professional prevention and treatment network. It serves as a focal point for information about substance use prevention and treatment.
ISSUP’s contribution is informed by science and research, promoting evidence based, high quality and ethical approaches and practice to substance use prevention and treatment. On November 6 – 11, 2017, ISSUP Philippine Chapter will officially be launched in time for the 1st International ISSUP Conference with the theme: ONE IN ACTION. ONE IN PURPOSE. to be held at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City.
The event is hosted by the Quezon City Government and the Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (QCADAC ) under the Office of the Hon. Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, and the Dangerous Drugs Board ( DDB ) in partnership with the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs ( INL ), U.S. Department of State and the International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals ( ISSUP) Philippine Chapter and the Psychological Association of the Philippines ( PAP ).
In line with this, we would like to invite you and your team to participate in the aforementioned event where five tracks from the Universal Treatment Curriculum for Substance Use Disorders ( UTC ) and one from the Universal Prevention Curriculum will be offered. The overall goal of these training series is to reduce significantly health, social and economic problems associated with SUD’s by building international treatment and prevention capacity through training, professionalizing and expanding the global treatment and prevention workforce.
The training of the UTC and UPC likewise prepares the counselors for basic level professional certification. The credentialing programme aims to raise the professional standards and provide a benchmark for practitioners in the field. The following tracks will be offered:
Certification exams for International Certified Addiction Professionals ( Level I, II,& III ) and Recovery Coaches will be held on November 11, 2017, Saturday on the same venue.
Proclamations for Recovery Month by the Dangerous Drugs Board, Quezon City Local Government and ISSUP Philippines will be held on November 8, 2017.
