Voices for Recovery

Ian Boyd (09/17/2012)

My mental illness began while serving in the military.  There have been many obstacles throughout my adult life as I struggled with a severe and persistent mental illness.

In 2004, I met Gail Coburn, MSSW, LCSW, who saw the potential I was not seeing in myself.

Throughout five years, I met with Ms. Coburn and I became the person I was meant to be.

In 2009, I founded three non-profits advocating for people who have mental illness.  To date, I currently own and manage three others which advocate and protect the rights of such a vulnerable population.

I may have an illness, unlike no other, but that has not stopped me from reaching my full potential in becoming who I was meant to be.  Many thanks to that one special therapist who did help make a positive change in my life.
