Voices for Recovery

Margaret Royer (09/24/2010)

In recovery I have choices to do and say how I feel. In a manner to be humble, I choose my Almighty and myself. I've learned how to love my higher power and myself first. A journey to accept my past, present, and future. Taking it one day at a time. Slowly a pattern of new behavior concerning people, places, and things. A struggle, but a strong individual person I am today. Along the journey my recovery has been a new life. Happy, sad sometimes, but I am not using. Shame, low self-esteem - I threw those words and actions away. Today I live a new life in recovery, one I am enjoying. The fact that I am learning about myself being sober for the five years.
