Offered by the Clergy Education and Training Project® of the National Association for Children of Alcoholics and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors with support from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

Presenters:

Abraham B. Ruiz, M.S., a Public Health Advisor in the Office of Consumer Affairs for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), will introduce the myriad resources available to faith communities, community organizations and individuals who wish to be part of promoting recovery throughout the year as well as participate in Recovery Month activities in September.

James F. Crowley has thirty years of experience in training adults who work with youth, enabling them to be more effective in their efforts. His areas of expertise include student assistance programs, alternative to suspension approaches, community mobilization, children of alcohol/drug dependent families, children of divorce and ATOD issues. Mr. Crowley will discuss simple strategies that can help a local congregation make a great impact on hurting individuals and families struggling with substance use and mental health disorders.
