In My Own Words Recovery Essay Contest for Military Service Members and Veterans

In recognition of Recovery Month 2012, the ATTC National Office, in partnership with Faces and Voices of Recovery and the Institute for Health of Military Families at Kansas State University, invite military service members and veterans to share their story of recovery from alcohol, substance use and or/mental health disorders. As an active or former service member in recovery, your story can provide a unique perspective and give hope to other service members, veterans, and their families working to recover from their own substance use and/or mental health disorders.

The top three submissions will receive the following prizes: 1st Place: iPad2, 2nd Place: Kindle Fire, 3rd Place: Kindle

Guidelines: In your own words, write an essay (250 words or less, typed, double space, 12 pt. font) in which you tell us about your experience as a military service members or veteran seeking and/or finding long-term recovery.
