The impact your organization can have by spreading a lasting message of recovery throughout your community can be beyond measure.
Recovery Month events, no matter how large or small, can go a long way in promoting the benefits of recovery. Search for Events in your area below for examples of events of all sizes that resulted in the dissemination of positive and personal messages of recovery in communities across the country.

Walk/run at Ada Hayden heritage park in Ames, Iowa. This event is promoting wellness, recovery and a healthy lifestyle. Participants will recieve a t-shirt, water and snacks with there submission. We encourage all ages to this event.

Center for Alcohol & Drug Services, Inc. (CADS) is celebrating Recovery Month with the annual September Fest. Opening Ceremony begins at noon and all non-residents are asked to leave no later than 8pm. A variety of events will be held throughout the day including music, freeze dance, children's games, adult activities, and an afternoon meal. A $5 donation is requested.

Celebrating recovery for families. Free Will Donations for meal. Music, games and prizes. Lots of fun for the family that is celebrating recovery of a parent or other family member. There is also a beautiful lake side view to enjoy when the sun is going down to end the evening.

Hope you'll want to get involved with our 2013 NAMI Johnson County WALK either organizing a WALK team or volunteering to help with the WALK in some way--or both! Watch for our updates announcing our Volunteer Information Meeting and the Kick-off Luncheon. Our WALK will be on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Come out and help us raise awareness about mental illness, reduce the stigma of mental illness, and raise funds for our many local projects and programs.
