Recovering Our Future - One Youth At A Time
*Abstract/Description of Event/Activity:
The panelists will discuss Denver's struggles with a lack of funding for treatment services for adolescents, from support groups through residential treatment, which includes gender-specific treatment and treatment for co-occurring disorders. There will also be discussion about teens' drugs of choice: alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, and ecstasy. Another critical issue is the difficulty of providing transitional services for young people (18-21) who leave treatment, as well as those who have completed their time in juvenile justice system placements.
